Anika’s trips today

Nothing to install

No GPS box. No card readers. One phone per bus.

Most tracking systems fit a GPS box, wiring and a SIM to every bus, and often a card reader with a card for every child. With Vainu, the conductor’s Android phone records each child and tracks the bus.

  • 1 phone

per bus. It records every child and tracks the bus.

  • 10 sec

between bus positions on a live trip.

  • Same day

to swap a lost phone. Revoke it and carry on.

What Vainu needs

One Android phone per bus

Nothing fitted, nothing wired, no cards to hand out.

See it in action

One school day in 74 seconds

What the conductor taps, what the school sees and what reaches parents.

How a trip works

Follow Anika’s day

The camera only suggests a name. A person confirms every step.

Anika and the children on these screens are examples.

Three apps, one record

Everyone sees the same record

The conductor records it once. The school and parents read the same entry.

1Conductor app

Built for one hand on a moving bus

Large buttons and plain words, and it keeps working without signal.

  • Face check, always confirmed by the conductor
  • Pick from the list when a face isn’t recognised
  • Doubles as the bus tracker

2School dashboard

Every bus and every child on one screen

See who is on board, who is still expected and which buses have gone quiet.

  • Alerts for missed pickups and wrong buses
  • Routes, stops, buses and staff in one place
  • Daily reports and a full audit log

3Parent app

Only what really happened

Parents are told once the school has the record, never before.

  • Boarding, arrival and drop-off times
  • Live bus position, and how recent it is
  • One tap to call the bus if a child is missed
More about the parent app

Built for real routes

Ready for the mornings that don’t go to plan

Designed around what actually goes wrong on a school bus.

  • Works without signal

Every tap is saved on the phone and sent when the signal returns. Nothing is lost or counted twice.

  • Face data stays on the bus

Stored only on that trip’s phone. Never shared, never used for training.

  • Alerts that matter

Missed pickups, wrong buses and silent phones go to the school and that child’s guardians.

  • Corrected, never erased

A mistake gets a correction on top, and the parents it affects are told.

Safety rules

Technology helps. People decide.

The camera, GPS and phone do the fast work. A person makes every call that matters for a child.

  • Technology suggestsFast, and never final on its own.
  • A person decidesEvery record carries who confirmed it.
  1. A person confirms every child

Technology suggests: The cameraSuggests Anika Rao

A person decides: Ravi, the conductorLooks, then confirms she boarded

  2. GPS tracks the bus, not the child

Technology suggests: GPS on the bus phoneBus 7 is at CMH Road

A person decides: Ravi, the conductorRecords which children got off here

  3. Parents confirm photo checks

Technology suggests: The conductor’s phoneTakes a photo when no face check is used

A person decides: Meera, Anika’s motherConfirms it is Anika, or says it isn’t

  4. Unsynced records are always labelled

Technology suggests: No signal on the routeMarks the record “not yet synced”

A person decides: The school officeSees the label and decides whether to call the bus

  5. Technology never strands a child

Technology suggests: The face checkDoesn’t recognise Chitra

A person decides: Ravi, the conductorPicks her from the list, and she boards

Questions

Common questions

What do we need on each bus?

One Android phone for the conductor. No GPS tracker, RFID reader or ID cards: the phone records each child and sends the bus position. If your state requires an approved tracking device for a bus permit, Vainu runs alongside it.

What if a child’s face isn’t recognised?

The conductor picks the child from the list and takes a photo for the guardians to confirm. The child boards as normal.

What happens without mobile signal?

Records are saved on the phone, marked as not yet synced, and sent when the signal returns.

How do parents join?

The school sends each guardian a one-time code for the Android or iPhone app.

What if a phone is lost?

Revoke it from the dashboard and carry on with another phone the same day.
